Search for Significance Intensive – June 26th - June 29th

Laying Hold of The Promises of God
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2 Peter 1:2-4)
Is Peter describing your life? Can you relate to what Peter is saying here? If someone where to ask you about your life in Christ, would you describe it this way? Full of peace and grace, completely satisfying, not lacking anything. Delivered from the corruption of sin. Participation in the divine nature?
These are powerful words that Peter has written. He tells us that nothing is lacking in what we need to live a life full of peace and grace and pleasing to God – it is all provided through the word and our relationship with Christ. He says...
- Through knowing God comes peace and grace in abundance
- Through knowing God comes a life pleasing to Him
- Through knowing God comes participation in the divine nature
- Through knowing God we can escape the corruption in the world
No matter where you are in your walk with the Lord today, God’s word tells us that there is more…He is waiting to multiply the blessings of His peace and grace to you through His great and precious promises.

Book Works -- War of Words
I have been reviewing a new book recently, well new to me, "War of Words" by Paul David Tripp. Finally a communication book that gets to the heart of the matter.
The reality is a Christian Counselor can teach good communication skill builders, but unless a person's heart is right with God, no technique can restore a relationship or make a heart right. If you have tried various communication techniques to no avail, it is time to look deeper into the problem. The problem is often unconfessed sin. Sin that results in the blame game.
We all know that game...it's been around since the fall, but that does not mean we have to keep playing it. God calls us to a life of repentance and humility. Thomas a Kempis said, and I paraphrase, "we are too quick to feel and resent what others do to us but neglect to see how we inflict harm on others." How true are these words.
Unless we desire and daily strive for a life of holiness and humility we will have relationship problems. If you want to get to the heart of your communication problems, let me suggest "War of Words."
