Gene Benedict Counseling

As a Youth Pastor for over fifteen years, I ministered to teens and their families from all walks of life. I began realizing that God wanted me to further my studies and obtain the tools to help folks with their life challenges. In 1990 I received a Masters in Counseling at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.

Since then, I’ve worked in many settings, both secular and on a church staff. Currently in private practice I see folks dealing with a variety of issues and believe that, as a Christian, I receive wisdom from the Master Counselor who is always available to guide and direct changes in our lives.

I offer Pre-Marital counseling for couples in a 8 week course. I use the Prepare and Enrich Survey as well as the workbook, Before You Say I Do. An expertise in the area of domestic violence and emotional arrested development, I co-authored, When It’s All Her Fault which is available on line.

Married over forty years, I’m a father to two beautiful daughters and between them, they have blessed my wife and me with seven grandchildren.

I believe that asking for professional counseling takes courage and as that Counselor, I feel a responsibility to provide the very best situation possible.
